Project Spotlight: Refined Lodge Style Retreat by Mountain Refined
Refined lodge-style deftly mixes sophisticated furnishings with rugged interior spaces for a look that is at once elegant and welcoming.
As with our mountain retreat project we share here, these seemingly incompatible elements can merge beautifully to create a fresh, updated lodge look that stays true to its architectural integrity while giving free rein to its contemporary counterparts. To illustrate, here is one of our favorite mountain getaway projects where refinement meets lodge style with breathtaking results.
Open Common Areas Flow Together for a Sense of Unity
Perched high atop a snowy mountain range, our clients wanted a vacation spot where they could escape and relax by themselves or while spending time with their family. The solution was a single open space with defined areas for living, dining, and cooking.
The tilt and turn windows with unobstructed glass bring the beauty of the surrounding mountains and nature into the lodge space. The wintery mountain vistas beyond the interior rooms are echoed in the cool grey and honey tones carried throughout the open area common spaces and the rest of the home.
Lodge Living Room Rendered in Elegant Style
The living room exudes an elegant persona while being warm and welcoming. A classic sofa is plush and inviting boasting charcoal upholstery, button-tufted back, and sensuous swoop arms. Nail head trim finishes the look in brilliant nickel that melds nicely with a handwrought silver drink table.
The posh furnishings play off the roughness of the natural stone fireplace surround. While a flokati rug underfoot brings immense softness and visual texture to the honey-toned European Oak flooring. A pair of stately wingback chairs take on sartorial stateliness dressed in menswear-inspired wool with smart pinstriping.
Contemporary Style Kitchen & Dining Room Ideal for Entertaining
Built for the home chef in mind, this envy-worthy kitchen is outfitted with luxury appliances and fixtures in stainless steel. The impressively thick island countertop in glossy white stone sits in contrast with the rustic flooring, wrought iron fixtures, and dark cabinetry. The plump backless stools make a convincing case for bellying up to the bar and having a cocktail or two.
The dining area beyond boasts a stylish double pedestal table in dramatic espresso finish paired with button-tufted dining chairs in velvet upholstery.
Bedroom Designed for Serenity & Peace
The mountain air and winter activities can make one exhausted at the end of an exciting day. What better to have waiting for you than a luxurious bedroom suite created for relaxation and sleep.
Here, we chose a queen bed with upholstered insets in picture frame molding. Nail head trim finishes the look. The raw linen bedding in a greige tone provides a touch of the rustic amongst the crispness of white cotton sheets.
A pair of wide nightstands topped with handsome table lamps provide a stash space for personal items while providing light for reading. A silk rug in ivory and greige adds a touch of visual and tactile texture underfoot. Artwork rendered in varying metals draws the eye upwards
A sitting room adjacent to the bedroom offers a second living space for watching TV or reading without having to leave the master suite. We carried the colors and textures from the bedroom to this cozy spot for continuity.
